Let’s start with a confession: I can’t remember the last time I finished a fiction book. I’ve started plenty over the last few years but even the likes of Girl on the Train didn’t keep me gripped till the end. I’d much rather find out the ending in film format…sorry! On the plus side, non-fiction books are the answer to my short attention span. For the same reason that my ‘recently watched’ list on Netflix is filled with documentaries; I love it when a past-time has the additional benefit of teaching me something new. When a book opens my eyes to a new way of thinking or introduces me to facts that I never knew I needed to know, I’m always desperate to share. So here are three book that I’ve picked up recently, which have done just that.

Ah August, the height of British summertime… or maybe not. This month so far has been filled with rainy days and grey skies but I’m trying to remain slightly optimistic when it comes to finding style inspiration. This mood board may hint at autumnal shades and knitwear but rest assured I’ll be back in skirts and sandals when the sun next shows its face.

I remember when a holiday on the Amalfi Coast of Italy felt like a completely unrealistic dream for two students looking to holiday on a budget. Our initial research indicated that this glamorous holiday destination is typically reserved for the wealthy, the honeymooners and the retired but those dreamy pastel coloured houses stacked up on the cliff top were too hard to resist, so, we made it work! The Amalfi Coast was actually part 2 of our holiday (we spent 5 days in Rome beforehand) and we took no decision lightly when it came to planning the itinerary. I can definitely confirm that the Amalfi Coast’s towns are as beautiful in real life as they look in pictures but more importantly, you can visit them on a budget and here’s how.

I’ve officially moved out of my university house in Manchester and I’m back in my home town of London. After taking a break following our final hand-in, which was filled with plenty of well-deserved celebrations, I’m now eagerly awaiting to hear my degree result and make the end official with graduation. Whilst uni is first and foremost an academic endeavour, I think it’s important to look back at the ‘life lessons’ that my three years of studying for a Fashion Marketing degree has taught me…

Back in January my sister signed up for the Stockholm marathon and six months later, on June 3rd 2017, my family and I were there to cheer her across the finish line. Well, any excuse for a holiday right?!

I’ll always love flicking through a recipe book’s flawless photography or scrolling through the perfectly poised food that fills my Instagram feed but even more so, I love getting an insight into what people eat on the day-to-day. So, speaking of my favourite foodie topic, here’s what I ate on a day of uni work and gym-going, with something a bit experimental for dinner…

Idéalia Peeling is the latest release from the Vichy laboratories. This time round they have combined two powerful antioxidant ingredients to create a beautiful active toner, which has helped leave my sensitive skin feeling calm, refreshed and smooth after just two weeks. There’s something about the power of french skincare that I can’t help but favour and this product definitely didn’t disappoint.

Trend check: leather trousers, gingham, baker boy hats, knotted shoes. You name it and I’ve (subconsciously) put it on this month’s style board.

As someone who’s always in need of a snack, especially to give me energy when I want to go to the gym straight out of lectures, it pays to be prepared. Without these delicious energy bites tucked away in my bag I rely on shop bought snacks, which can get very expensive and aren’t always filled with our first choice ingredients.
