Yearly Archives: 2015

I remember a failed attempt at a gingerbread house many years ago, which probably ended in tears. This year however, my mama and I had another go at it and I don’t think we did too bad.

It’s Christmas eve, eve, eve! That’s a thing right?

The fashion industry has gone slightly pom-pom crazy this season and for some reason, it’s a trend I have massively fallen for. I’ll walk around the shops and find myself drawn to all the bags/ shoes/ key rings adorned with fluffy little pom poms and believe me, they’re everywhere. I started with a bright pink keyring back in summer, which now gets a collective ‘it’s back’ moan every time it finds its way onto my keys again.

I’m one of those people that loves everything about Christmas, especially the countdown. There’s something about the hype around December that I really enjoy and every year I ensure the decorations are up and Christmas playlists are ready in time to make sure I don’t miss a day of it.

Doing anything other than watching films in pyjamas on a Sunday evening is a rarity for me but this weekend I found myself working at MCR Fashion Industry’s Gothic Romance event. Being an online contributor for their company, I offered to help out at their latest event, which was held at the beautiful San Carlo Fumo restaurant in Manchester. Featuring a fashion show and complimentary cocktails, the evening was attended by key industry influencers and was overall, a massive success.

food
One of my new favourite ways to procrastinate is by searching for recipes, new foods and different ways of eating. Gluten-free, paleo, raw etc. diets get a lot of attention these days and although some of them are just trends, I find it interesting to read about the ways people choose (or for medical reasons have to) eat. Since starting uni, I’ve tried cutting out meat and now more recently started eating fish for the first time but I’m definitely not always clever with what I eat and sometimes all I want is cheesy pasta or toast so that is exactly what I will end up eating! The days that I am feeling slightly more inspired, it’s probably after looking in one of these places…

Make-up brushes, like make-up itself, can very quickly turn into a collector’s item. You might start off with a couple of ‘essentials’ but before you know it you’re splashing out on ones that look way too  similar to what you’ve already got, convincing yourself that you really need that new release and lusting after the limited edition packaging of one you definitely already have. That said, they look pretty and they do actually have a purpose so having a few in your collection is justified, right?

Richmond Green Fog

This past week has been my reading week (uni for half-term) so I packed up and travelled back home to London for a short break. I had a couple things planned, which I had been looking forward to for so long but I also managed to fit in some other outings with my family along with some much needed time spent being lazy at home, with my dog for my company.

Following on from my Most Read Fashion Blogs post back in January is an update on some of the blogs I am enjoying reading at the moment. Here are some favourites I have read for years mixed in with a couple of new discoveries… (more…)

L’Oreal Colour Riche Nail Place Vendome 364

I surprise myself if I ever have perfectly painted nails because somehow there’s always a chip or messy edge somewhere. That said, this beautiful red from L’Oreal’s colour riche collection called ‘Place Vendome’ is one that definitely requires a steady hand and a bit of patience, so unfortunately it’s quite rare that I put it on.
