Monthly Archives: July 2016
On our recent long drive back from the Scottish Highlands following a family wedding, we took a couple of nights out to discover the beautiful and historic city of Edinburgh. With a few recommendations in mind, we took to wandering the cobbled streets as true tourists before hunting out the hidden gems. Despite visiting for less than 48 hours, I absolutely fell in love with Edinburgh and thought it was only fair to share the places that made our brief city break so enjoyable.
The recipe that I used to create these delicious muffins was a combination of numerous different ones that I had found online. I wanted to try and make them gluten and refined sugar free but keep the ingredients list as simple as possible. Apart from the dates, I already had everything in my cupboards so hopefully you will too.
I spend far too much time curating wish lists in my head and filling up virtual baskets, but here’s a solid summary of what’s top of my list this July.
Last summer I got my first taster for surfing. Admittedly, the waves were small, the sea was freezing (we were in Cornwall) and as a complete beginner, I spent a very minimal amount of time actually ‘surfing’. Ever since then I’ve been waiting to have another go and when uni finished for the year, I went with group of friends to the west coast of Morocco to do just that.
The lingerie trend, as seen across the spring/ summer 2016 catwalks from the likes of Givenchy, Céline and Balenciaga is admittedly one of the hardest to master with style and grace this season. Without finding yourself in an outfit that you’d be ashamed to greet your Grandma in, the key is to cleverly pair statement lingerie pieces with wardrobe classics. Think about thoughtfully exposing lace straps with loose fits and layering sheer fabrics for effortless sophistication. You know you’ve nailed the trend when you dress up by dressing down.
