Well it was certainly a very different kind of night out. When the lovely team at Clue HQ Manchester invited me to have a go at their latest ‘live escape room’, I wasn’t short of volunteers to join in. As a group of first-timers we were challenged with the Detonation game and despite little knowledge of what to expect, we all thoroughly enjoyed our hour of laughs, frights and challenges.
Making a list of what I’ve been loving over the last month came to me easily as there seems to be a lot of new things that I’ve picked up or I’ve been trying out since the start of the new year. Limiting it to five was the hard bit but here’s what made the cut…
Despite swearing by a handful of drugstore skincare products for over two years, the last few months have seen me switch-up my daily routine multiple times in search of a solution for my grumpy, winter skin. I’ve been moaning about spots and dry skin despite following all the skincare golden rules (drink enough water, get enough sleep, skip the make-up… you know the drill) so I decided it was about time that I turned to some new products. I’m really happy with how this trio of products have been helping me out recently.
I can’t stop dreaming of going shopping. Like actual, feel the fabric and try stuff on shopping. Maybe it’s the endless hours I’ve spent at my laptop reading strategy textbooks that have me fantasising of real-life interactions and a chance to wander around shops guilt-free. As a consolation, my revision breaks consist of online shopping or more specifically, scrolling the pages of ASOS in search of my latest fashion obsession: a suede biker jacket.
I’ve always held the idea of practicing yoga in high regard, with massive respect to those who power through hours of balance, stretching and movement. In 2016 I got the yoga bug and began discovering the far-reaching benefits for myself. Hey, I even got my own yoga mat!
Skin Health Spa kindly invited me along to their Manchester clinic this week to experience their latest Oxygen Facial, as the perfect pre-christmas treat. My visit left me feeling truly pampered and relaxed, as well as inspired to step-up my current skincare routine.
A new clothing brand on the scene always gets me excited, especially when I get the opportunity to find out more at a Christmas themed launch (complete with mulled wine and cupcakes, may I add). Joanie Clothing were the hosts of the evening and I was invited along to find out more about their ultra feminine and playful brand that puts a vintage twist on the modern wardrobe. (more…)
Vapiano in Manchester’s corn exchange is a self-serve restaurant that hosts the perfect combination of classic Italian food and a chilled-out vibe. We were given the opportunity to take our first visit to the restaurant and try out their brand new vegan specials menu. Verdict? Pleasantly surprised.
Despite the rainy start to the day, a good ol’ Sunday brunch put a smile on our faces this morning. We headed out to Solomon’s, a quirky bar/ cafe, to finally check out their brunch menu and hide away from our long to-do list of coursework and cleaning for a couple more hours.
