Day on a Plate ft. Gousto

I’ll always love flicking through a recipe book’s flawless photography or scrolling through the perfectly poised food that fills my Instagram feed but even more so, I love getting an insight into what people eat on the day-to-day. So, speaking of my favourite foodie topic, here’s what I ate on a day of uni work and gym-going, with something a bit experimental for dinner…

Breakfast: Coffee and oats

Blueberries and oats is my first choice. Every time. It’s my favourite way to start the day: so quick, so filling and full of energy. Speaking of energy, I then picked up a coffee to fuel me through a morning of uni work in one of my favourite Manchester cafes (more on that to come soon…)

Lunch: Scrambled eggs and veg

Lunch time post-gym is almost always eggs in some way shape or form. Today was scrambled eggs with spinach, mushrooms and tomatoes sautéed in coconut oil.

Dinner: Gousto’s Crispy Mushroom Dal

On this day, I was lucky enough to be trying out a Gousto box* for dinner. Just in case you’re not familiar, Gousto offer a rather luxurious meal prep and delivery service in which a box containing ingredients for a recipe of your choice is delivered straight to your door. I had been online to pick out two delicious looking meals and on the menu for tonight was a ‘Crispy Mushroom Dal’.

The box retails at £27.49 and the convenience of the service is unreal! The second recipe in my box was a Tuscan Fish & Black Olive Risotto, which got top marks from both myself and my fellow taste-tester. I would definitely recommend both the meals that I chose and luckily for you, you don’t just have to take my word for it as Gousto are offering an amazing discount to try it for yourself.  To get £20 off both your 1st and 2nd Gousto orders use the code TORNADO. This means that your first 2 boxes, each containing 2x meals for 2, could cost just £7.49! It’s completely worth it to try out something new, especially as you can cancel any time.

those scrambled eggs look divine! and you cant go wrong with a bowl of oats, especially if there’s lots of yummy toppings! xx

I eat porridge and blueberries nearly all year round during the working week – only if it’s really hot do I swap to cereal 🙂 and scrambled or poached eggs at the weekend. The mushroom dal looks lovely too – I’ve never tried gusto boxes. Thanks for the info.
    love Bec xx
