This past week has been my reading week (uni for half-term) so I packed up and travelled back home to London for a short break. I had a couple things planned, which I had been looking forward to for so long but I also managed to fit in some other outings with my family along with some much needed time spent being lazy at home, with my dog for my company.
I travelled home on Halloween and I got back just in time to carve a pumpkin so that I could keep up my yearly tradition of doing so. This time round I went for a skull but I wasn’t too pleased with the outcome- I blame the distraction of the rugby World Cup final I was trying to watch at the same time! We also roasted the pumpkin seeds from inside and they were so tasty- something I will definitely be doing again.
One of the highlights of my week was Sunday, the day after I got back. My dad and I had tickets to an NFL American Football match at Wembley stadium, which turned out to be a really great afternoon. The actual game was more like a performance than a sporting event as the 60 minutes play turned into 3 hours of cheerleading, marching bands and live performances along with, of course, an exciting (if not slightly confusing) game of football.
Other highlights include a bike ride I took through Bushy Park on an extremely foggy Monday afternoon and an evening spent in central London to celebrate my mother’s birthday where we explored the St Katharine’s Docks and Tower Bridge area.
And now? Well I’m back in a very rainy Manchester and getting ready for 9am labs tomorrow…o yay.
