Day trips to unfamiliar places have always been one of my favourite things to plan and do. Although I still love going back to the towns where I know who does the best coffee and cake or how to actually get to/ from the station, it’s discovering the unknown places that add to the fun. As mentioned in my latest Sundaze post, I recently paid a visit to the village of Knutsford in Cheshire along with a few girls from my course.
Knutsford is only a short and cheap train ride out from central Manchester, although the contrast between the two places couldn’t be more apparent. Knutsford’s cobbled streets were lined with bunting and sandwiched between rows of independent shops and cafes. Among the stores we stumbled across were a very popular old-fashioned sweet shop, a luxury beauty store, as well as plenty of fashion boutiques. The town doesn’t exactly cater for a student clientele but if you’re happy just window-shopping and getting a change from the fast pace of city living, Knutsford comes highly recommended. It was a Saturday afternoon when we were there and the sun was out so as you can imagine there were quite a lot of people buzzing around but the vibe remained calm and friendly all the same.

Why not have an outfit shoot when you’re in the middle of a forest?
Our last stop for the day was a sun-soaked courtyard to source drinks and cake. We may have narrowly missed a train back to Manchester but we quite happily spent almost the whole day in Knutsford- definitely a sign of a good trip.
