I’ve finally found myself with some time to just stop, sit-down and relax. The first half of my week was completely centred around revision but exams are all done for me now and my second year of uni is officially finished. O-YAY!
Last weekend I was in London to celebrate my 20th birthday with my family. I managed to squeeze in some drinks with friends before they disappeared into revision hibernation but being back at home meant for a very relaxing Sunday of presents and homemade birthday cake. We went for brunch at Bill’s so that I could have my favourite ever vegetarian breakfast and then headed off for a day trip to Windsor & Eton. We saw the castle, had celebratory bubbles on a beautiful roof terrace and then finished off the day with pizza. Perfect.
The sun was out on Thursday afternoon, all in honour of our last exam I’m sure, so after finishing we took a wonder around Manchester’s Northern Quarter for a lunch break at The Teacup Kitchen. I missed out on their amazing looking cakes after filling myself with a coffee and a super tasty Moroccan wrap, but I guess the cake just gives me another excuse to go back. Later that evening, myself and some friends headed to an open mic night at Hold Fast before trying out the ping-pong bar, Twenty Twenty Two (both also, Northern Quarter).
Whilst I eagerly await next week when everyone will be finished and back in Manchester ready for some end of term celebrations, I’ve been keeping myself busy making summer plans and lining up some exciting things for the next few weeks.
I loved this ‘enjoy life sip by sip’ card in The Teacup Kitchen. A perfect reminder for me to appreciate the next 3 months of my final EVER summer in education.
