The Countdown

I’m one of those people that loves everything about Christmas, especially the countdown. There’s something about the hype around December that I really enjoy and every year I ensure the decorations are up and Christmas playlists are ready in time to make sure I don’t miss a day of it.

I picked up some decorations to put around my uni house including an apple and cinnamon candle, which smells so good even though it cost me just £1! For my room I also made some paper snowflakes (major procrastination) and of course, I’ve got an advent calendar. On the advent theme, I also have an advent candle this year which is something we always have at home and this year my mamma kindly got me one of my own. I did brave the shops on a Friday afternoon but so far, I’ve done the majority of my shopping online and when I say majority, I mean the only two presents I have sorted.

Unfortunately for me, all of my coursework deadlines for this term are on the last day so I’ve been pushing myself to try and finish early so that I can join in with some of the festive celebrations. That said, we had a house Christmas dinner yesterday and we’ve also ticked ice-skating, the markets, Christmas films and mulled cider off list. As was the case last year, the countdown to Christmas is also my countdown to going home, which is too much excitement for me to control! Seeing pictures of how my parents have decorated the house and thinking about all the exciting things that are still yet to come this year keeps a massive smile on my face.
It’s not long now…
