The Workout Leggings Edit

It pays to be picky when it comes to workout leggings and if you compromise on price, you’re guaranteed to pay for it somewhere. Whether you’re after a stylish, a classic or just a great value pair of leggings, I’ve picked out my current top 3 workout wear brands to give you some ideas.

01. Investment – Sweaty Betty

Here’s a brand that needs no introduction: Sweaty Betty. I’ve been a huge fan of Sweaty Betty’s gym and yoga gear for years now and I can’t believe it was only a couple of months ago that I picked up my first pair of leggings from them. Well, actually I can… they’re kinda pricey! Fortunately, you can definitely tell that they are an investment brand because their fit and fabrics are of such high quality. I chose a pair of monochrome-style panelled leggings (pictured below) and they are easily the most comfortable and best performing gym leggings I’ve ever owned. Unfortunately this exact pair are no longer available but there’s quite a few similar style pairs in different colour ways that are introduced season after season. They look stylish and do the job perfectly- what more do you need!?

02. Classic – Fabletics

I found the absolute perfect pair of classic black leggings from Fabletics and I’ve worn them what feels like 1000s of times now but they still feel as good as new! It’s risky ordering something as hard-to-fit as leggings online but Fabletics price point is brilliant for the quality of the fabric and cut. I ordered them a year or so ago and they are definitely the most worn workout leggings in my wardrobe. Fabletics is a great one to check out when you think you’ve looked everywhere.

03. Value – Hunkemöller*

Recently I’ve been trying out a pair of leggings from German retailer, Hunkemöller and I was pleasantly surprised by both how great the fit is and also how lightweight and comfortable they are. I’d recommend these leggings in particular for cardio workouts or perhaps upper body training days as they are slightly see-through if you’re squatting and bending but for the price tag and a fashion-focused design, I think they’re great value for money. The brand have a nice selection of workout wear in a similar colour palette so if you like the look of these, check out the rest of their Doutzen range for similar designs.
